  19. Needed assistance that is unavailable locally

  20. Monitors News/Weather Reports


First Counselor Actions


  1. Follows up on Special Needs with Relief Society & Priesthood

  2. Ensures Priesthood Assessment/Cleanup teams are organized.

  3. Reports progress of Special Needs to Bishop

  4. Check Status of Building

  5. Uses Building Status form (Attachment)

  6. Reports Status to Bishop


Second Counselor Actions


  1. Follow up on Member Notification with Relief Society & Priesthood

  2. Ensures all members have been contacted.

  3. Status, Home Status

  4. Needs (special, evacuation help)

  5. Reports Progress of Members


Ward Clerks Actions


  1. Keeps log of Daily Activities

  2. Monitors TV/Radio Monitor/Ham Radio of Teams


Ward Emergency Preparedness Specialist


  1. Clears Assessment/Cleanup Team activity with Local Gov. 866-345-0345, West Volusia 386-3450345

  2. Records Registration of ERT/Cleanup Teams

  3. Insures Church Disaster Form read/checked off

  4. Records Team Rosters/Assignment

  5. Issues Work Orders, Maps, GPS Coordinates to each Team


Ward Emergency Communications Specialist


  1. Activates Zone Calling Tree (see attached Zone List)

  2. Reports Zone calling to Bishop/Priesthood

  3. Sets up Emergency Communication Equipment at Command Center (Clerks Office)

  4. Establishes Ward ERC Simplex Net

  5. Calls Ward Ham Operators and activates net

  6. Establishes contact on Stake ERC Simplex Net

  7. Ensures a Ham Operator on each ERT & Cleanup team


Zone Activation


Zone Coordinators

  1. Contacts each Zone Leader to contact members (see attached Zone List)

  2. Reports back to EC specialist


Zone Leaders

  1. Contacts each member in zone (by phone or in person)

  2. Status, Home Status

  3. Needs (special, evacuation help)

  4. Willing to help

  5. Reports status back to Zone Leaders

  6. Report Work Needed to EP Specialist


Melchizedek Priesthood (Elder/High Priest Presidencies)


Elders President with assistance of HP Group Leader

  1. Organizes Assessment/Cleanup Teams

  2. Assigns Assessment/Cleanup Teams (should have been done previously)

  3. Assigns Ham Operator to each Team

  4. Assigns GPS device to each Team

  5. Trains Teams with Church Disaster Guidelines/Signoff sheet (attachment)

  6. Coordinates with EP Specialist to assign Assessment/Cleanup Work Orders

  7. Reports Progress to Bishop


Relief Society President


  1. Calls the Relief Society Presidency and informs ERT/Cleanup Plan

  2. Activates VT check members (Redundant contact to Zone Contacts)

  3. Status, Home Status

  4. Needs (special, evacuation help)

  5. Willing to help

  6. Check status of Special Needs

  7. Reports status to Bishop

  8. Organizes Meals for Command Center/Teams as needed

  9. Organizes Compassionate Service as required.
