  1. Follows up on Special Needs with Relief Society & Priesthood

  2. Ensures Priesthood Assessment/Cleanup teams are organized.

Ward Emergency Preparedness Specialist


  1. Clears Emergency Response/Cleanup Team activity with Local Gov. 866-345-0345, West Volusia 386-3450345

  2. Records Registration of ERT/Cleanup Teams

  3. Insures Church Disaster Form read/checked off

  4. Records Team Rosters/Assignment

  5. Issues Work Orders, Maps, GPS Coordinates to each Team


Ward Emergency Communications Specialist


  1. Sets up Emergency Communication Equipment at Command Center (Clerks Office)

  2. Establishes Ward ERC Simplex Net

  3. Calls Ward Ham Operators and activates net

  4. Establishes contact on Stake ERC Simplex Net

  5. Ensures a Ham Operator on each Assessment & Cleanup team


Calling Tree Activation by Melchizedek Priesthood Leader


District Leaders

  1. Contacts each Home Teacher to contact members

  2. Reports back to Priesthood Leader or EC specialist (Ham Radio Operator) if telephones lines are down


Home Teacher

  1. Contacts each member (by phone or in person)

Melchizedek Priesthood (Elder/High Priest Presidencies)


Elders President with assistance of HP Group Leader

  1. Organizes ERT/Cleanup Teams

  2. Assigns ERT/Cleanup Teams (should have been done previously)

  3. Assigns Ham Operator to each Team

  4. Assigns GPS device to each Team

  5. Trains Teams with Church Disaster Guidelines/Signoff sheet (attachment)

  6. Coordinates with EP Specialist to assign Assessment/Cleanup Work Orders

  7. Reports Progress to Bishop



Relief Society President


  1. Calls the Relief Society Presidency and informs Assessment/Cleanup Plan

  2. Activates VT check members (Redundant)

  3. Status, Home Status

  4. Needs (special, evacuation help)

  5. Willing to help

  6. Check status of Special Needs

  7. Reports status to Bishop

  8. Organizes Meals for Command Center/Teams as needed

  9. Organizes Compassionate Service as required.
